For years, I dedicated my life to teaching in the classroom—helping students grow, gain confidence, and build a foundation for success.Â
In March 2020, I took a leap and founded Braids by Kayba. What started as a side hustle quickly became something bigger than I ever imagined. With word-of-mouth referrals, viral social media moments, and sold-out braid camps, I realized I wasn’t just doing hair—I was teaching others how to braid, start businesses, and create financial independence.
Fast forward five years later, and I’m stepping into an even bigger vision: The Braid School Co.
This transformation is about more than just a rebrand—it’s a mission to provide structured education, mentorship, and career opportunities for aspiring braiders of all levels. Whether through Braid Camps, 1-on-1 training, online courses, or The Alumni Club, my goal is to make professional braiding accessible, profitable, and community-driven for the next generation.

When I took the leap from teaching to full-time entrepreneurship, I had no blueprint—just a love for braiding and a drive to make it work. Along the way, I’ve learned that braiding is about more than just hair—it’s about confidence, independence, and the power to create something of your own.
Now, I teach others how to braid, not just as a skill but as a pathway to possibility.
